Shooting in Troup County Claims Life of Woman
In the early hours of April 27th, deputies from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call at a residence on Teaver Road. Upon arrival at 2:11 AM, they discovered an adult female who had sustained a gunshot wound and was not breathing. Deputies immediately initiated life-saving measures, including CPR, until medical personnel arrived. Despite their efforts, the victim, identified as Taneshia Bridges, aged 41, succumbed to her injuries after being transported to Wellstar West Georgia Emergency Department.
The investigation, led by the Criminal Investigations Division, revealed multiple shell casings outside the residence, indicating that the shots were fired from outside, hitting Bridges indoors. At the time of the incident, another adult female and a small child were present in the home. As of now, no suspects have been named, and the investigation remains ongoing.
