Two Arrested in Cartersville Shooting Investigation

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Cartersville Police Officers, in collaboration with Agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, apprehended two individuals connected to a shooting incident that took place on April 23, 2024, near Lee Street.

Ronald Michelle Osburn and MaKayla Ann Tanner were taken into custody.

On Tuesday, at approximately 9:48 pm, Cartersville Police Officers had responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Lee and Walker Streets in Cartersville. When the officers arrived, they located spent shell casings from different caliber firearms, but were not able to locate anyone wounded. Shortly thereafter, a gunshot victim arrived via private transportation at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. It was determined that the gunshot victim had been shot on Lee Street.

Osburn faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, while Tanner is charged with Hindering Apprehension or Punishment of a Criminal. Both are currently held at Bartow County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
