Atlanta Police Investigate Shooting in South River Gardens, Suspect in Custody

On April 20, 2024, at approximately 11:24 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to reports of a person shot at 1023 Eisenhower Rd SE in the South River Gardens area.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 34-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital by EMS in critical condition.

Investigators responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. During the investigation, a suspect was placed in custody. Preliminary information suggests the shooting was the result of a verbal dispute between the victim and suspect who knew each other.
