Violent Exchange: Two Injured as Gunfire Erupts in Atlanta’s Carey Park Area

On April 13, 2024, at approximately 10:36pm, Atlanta Police officers rushed to the scene of a shooting at 2591 Ethridge Court in the Carey Park area. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing, and was taken to the hospital for medical care.

While the investigation unfolded, another victim, a female, arrived at Grady Hospital with a graze wound to her arm, believed to be linked to the same incident.

Preliminary findings suggest that a vehicle entered the property and its occupants began firing shots towards a basketball court. This led to an exchange of gunfire between the vehicle and individuals on the court, causing damage to multiple nearby vehicles.

The investigation is ongoing.
