Fatal Collision Involving Motorized Scooter and RV Under Investigation in Midtown

On April 13, 2024, at approximately 5:40 pm, Atlanta Police officers were called to the intersection of 16th St. and Spring St. NW following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Upon reaching the scene, officers found an unresponsive male. Emergency medical services from Grady EMS arrived and pronounced the male deceased.

Initial investigations suggest that the male was riding a motorized scooter on the sidewalk when he entered the crosswalk. At that moment, he was struck by a 2008 Newmar Essex RV mobile home heading south on Spring St. The RV was making a right turn onto 16th St.

Authorities state that no charges are expected at this stage of the investigation. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
