Suspicious Intruder Shot While Attempting Entry into Macon Residence

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that happened in the 3800 block of Andrews Drive. The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 1:04 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to reports, a suspicious male entered the rear of an occupied residence and was shot. Deputies arrived at the scene to find the male unresponsive behind the residence, having sustained a gunshot wound. The male, identified as 51-year-old David Maynard Morris Jr. of Macon, succumbed to his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley pronounced Morris deceased at the scene, and his next of kin has been notified.
