Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Atlanta, Investigation Underway

On the morning of April 4th, 2024, authorities responded to a distressing scene at the intersection of James Jackson Parkway and Hightower Road. At approximately 7:10 am, officers arrived to find an unresponsive male lying on the roadway.

Emergency Medical Services from Grady Memorial Hospital attended to the victim, transporting him to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, the man was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

The driver involved in the incident remained present and cooperated with law enforcement. According to preliminary investigations, the driver was heading northbound when the pedestrian unexpectedly entered the path of the vehicle.

Authorities have stated that speed is not believed to have played a role in the tragedy, and at present, charges are not anticipated against the driver. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
