Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Launches Operation Safer Together Initiative

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a new program, Operation Safer Together, and is seeking cooperation from the Macon Bibb County community. This initiative aims to bolster community safety by allowing residents to securely register their exterior monitoring devices with the Sheriff’s Office.

Under Operation Safer Together, residents can opt to participate by registering their surveillance cameras with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. In the event of a crime occurring in an area covered by registered surveillance, investigators will contact participating residents to obtain footage that could aid in investigations.

Captain Jason Batchelor expressed the importance of Operation Safer Together, citing the success of similar initiatives such as Atlanta PD’s Operation Shield, which boasts over 16,000 registered monitoring devices. He emphasized the program’s goal to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement, local businesses, residents, and community organizations to proactively address crime.

“This new program will partner with our successful FLOCK camera system to give our residents and businesses an opportunity to connect their monitoring devices so that evildoers can be identified and brought to justice. We encourage our community members to sign up.”, said Sheriff David J. Davis.

Camera registration is fast and easy. Residents who wish to register can visit https://refer.flocksafety.com/bibb-county-safe/ to securely register their devices. Operation Safer Together does not monitor live stream footage from registered monitoring devices. Information on registered monitoring devices is only accessible by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and will not be disseminated.
