Greene County Jail Closed for Renovations, Operations Relocated to Morgan County
Effective immediately, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Jail Operations will be temporarily closed and relocated to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Jail at 1380 Monticello Road, Madison, Georgia 30650. This move is anticipated to last approximately eight months.
Individuals who are arrested for any offense during this period, as well as their acquaintances, will be required to travel to Madison for bond-related matters. At the Morgan County Jail, adherence to their policies and procedures regarding visitation, bonding, booking, healthcare, phone calls, and commissary services will be observed.
Greene County Detention Officers will be present at the Morgan County Jail to assist the existing staff. Additionally, the healthcare needs of Greene County inmates will continue to be overseen by the same Jail Doctor and Nurse.
Recognizing the inconvenience this may cause for Greene County citizens, the Sheriff’s Office assures the community of their commitment to providing assistance to families and inmates affected by this relocation.
