Man Found Shot on Piedmont Avenue NE, Investigation Ongoing

On March 9th, 2024, at approximately 9:56 pm, Atlanta Police officers responded to 120 Piedmont Avenue NE in reference to a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old male who sustained an apparent gunshot wound to his buttocks. The male was alert, conscious, and breathing and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred at a separate and yet to be identified location and that the victim walked to 120 Piedmont Avenue NE to flag down a Georgia State University officer who was inside of his patrol vehicle at the location. Officers were able to confirm that the victim is not a Georgia State University student.

Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
