Scuffle Involving NFL Quarterback Cam Newton at Flag Football Tournament

On February 26th, 2024, officers responded to reports of an active fight at the “We Ball Sports” Flag Football Tournament located at 1190 Northwest Drive NW. Upon arrival, officers intervened and separated the involved parties, including NFL quarterback Cam Newton and his flag football teammates.

Although some individuals fled the scene on foot, neither Mr. Newton nor any of the remaining parties indicated a need for medical attention or a desire to press charges. The responding officers filed an information-only incident report to document the event.

At present, the cause of the altercation remains unknown, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
