Arrest Made in Columbus Murder Case: Suspect Apprehended After Weeks on the Run

Columbus Police Department arrested 35-year-old Rwanda Hill on Thursday, February 15, 2024, who was wanted for Murder.

Hill had been on the run since being identified as the suspect in the deadly shooting that occurred on January 23, 2024, in the 900 block of Fleming Ave.

Columbus Police officers responded to the scene at 3:13 p.m. and found Lacoya Whittlesey, 48, suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Hill has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a felony. No bond has been set.
