Dawsonville Man Arrested for Shooting Neighbor’s Dogs Over Trash Dispute

In Dawsonville, GA, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, a Lumpkin County Sheriff Deputy responded to an animal cruelty call at Burnt Stand Road.

The deputy arrested 29-year-old Larry Wade Grammer for shooting his neighbor’s dogs after they got into their trash.

Grammer claimed it was an ongoing issue with the neighbor’s dogs and when he arrived home to find them in the garbage, he shot both dogs.

The caller, who was holding one of the deceased dogs, expressed her desire to press charges.

Grammer was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty for knowingly and willingly causing the death of an animal. He was transported to the Lumpkin County Detention Center.
