Burglary Suspect Arrested in Connection with Dunkin Donuts Break-Ins in Gwinnett County

Gwinnett County law enforcement officers have made an arrest in connection with two Dunkin Donuts burglaries following a joint investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division and Uniform Division.

The first incident occurred on January 13, when officers responded to a burglary call at the Dunkin Donuts on South Old Peachtree Road in Peachtree Corners. The suspect had smashed the front door and made off with cash. A similar burglary took place on January 31 at another Dunkin Donuts location on Stone Mountain Highway in unincorporated Snellville.

Officers identified the suspect as Lavan Hickman, who was reportedly driving a black Infiniti SUV. Using FLOCK cameras, law enforcement determined the registered owner of the vehicle and obtained an arrest warrant for Hickman. With the assistance of the DeKalb County Police Department, officers located and apprehended Hickman at a restaurant on South Hairston Road in Stone Mountain over the weekend.

Lavan Hickman, 36, of Clarkston, was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary, both felonies. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on Saturday, February 3.

Authorities emphasized their dedication to investigating commercial burglaries and pledged to leverage available technology to identify, locate, and arrest individuals responsible for property crimes.
