Goldbergs Fine Foods Marks 30 Years of Culinary Excellence in Atlanta
Atlanta’s iconic New York-style deli, Goldbergs Fine Foods, is celebrating a significant milestone as it reaches its 30th year under the leadership of Wayne Saxe and Howard Aaron. Established in 1972 on Roswell Road in Buckhead, the original Goldbergs started with six bagel options and classic deli sandwiches. In 1992, Saxe and Aaron, brothers-in-law from South Africa, acquired the flagship location, sparking a transformative journey.
Under their guidance, Goldbergs has expanded from a single store to nine locations, becoming a culinary staple in Atlanta. To honor three decades of leadership, Goldbergs Fine Foods is offering patrons a special 30% discount on their entire check when they say “Happy Anniversary” at checkout. This exclusive offer is available in-store at all locations, excluding the airport, from Monday, December 4 to Wednesday, December 6.
The growth of Goldbergs has been remarkable, with the brand now baking over 500 dozen bagels on weekdays and more than 1,000 dozen on weekends. The menu has evolved to include sit-down dining, catering, and retail products like frozen foods and take-home meals. Additionally, the introduction of a food truck has expanded their reach, with Goldbergs’ delectable offerings now available in various retail outlets nationwide, including Costco.
Over the years, Goldbergs has consistently received accolades, clinching the Best Bagel award multiple times and garnering recognition in the Best Of category. Beyond culinary excellence, the Goldbergs Group has diversified its portfolio, establishing Goldbergs Commissary, Goldbergs Concessions Corp., Mainline Aviation, Mainline Foods, and Goldway Construction.
Reflecting on their journey, Wayne Saxe, President and CEO of Goldbergs Group, expressed gratitude, stating, “When Aaron and I acquired the flagship Goldbergs in 1993, it was just the two of us and a handful of employees running the shop. From Howard baking and me managing the register and customer service, we have come a long way. We are incredibly honored to continue serving the community with our unwavering commitment to quality food and exceptional service.”
The 30th-anniversary celebration also highlights Goldbergs Fine Foods’ commitment to being a family-driven enterprise. Bradley Saxe, a key figure in this commitment, leads Mainline Foods, a crucial subsidiary under the Goldbergs Group umbrella. As the legacy continues, Bradley’s leadership reinforces the family’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence, ensuring Goldbergs Fine Foods remains a beloved institution in Atlanta.
