Woman Arrested in Athens Fatal Shooting, Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter

On June 12, 2024, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to a shooting incident on the 100 block of Nowhere Road. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Howard of Athens, with a gunshot wound. Police provided immediate life-saving efforts before EMS transported Howard to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Heather Nicole McCall, a 26-year-old resident of Athens, has been arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Conduct. McCall is described as a white female.
