Traffic Stop in Reynolds, Georgia Leads to Arrest of South Carolina Woman on Drug and Firearm Charges

Reynolds Police Chief Lonnie Holder and Captain Sean Humphrey conducted a routine traffic stop on April 3, 2024, which led to the arrest of a South Carolina resident, Rayunna Alston, aged 22. The stop was initiated due to speeding, but during the interaction, Captain Humphrey detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. With the support of Lt. Albritton and Officer Beasley from the Butler Police Department, a thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted.

The search yielded approximately 2 ounces of marijuana, 2 digital scales, and 4 firearms. Consequently, Alston was taken into custody and transported to the Taylor County Jail. She faces multiple charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (four counts), possession of drug-related objects, speeding, window tint violation, driving while license suspended, and driving on an expired tag.

Chief Holder expressed gratitude to the Butler Police Department for their collaboration in the search operation and the traffic stop. Felony warrants are pending against Alston.
