Two Arrested After Americus Drug Raid Seizes Nearly 700 Grams of Cocaine and Cash

AMERICUS, Ga. – Two people face drug trafficking and firearms charges after a search of an Americus home led authorities to seize nearly 700 grams of suspected cocaine, additional drugs, four guns and more than $27,000 in cash, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Jessica Reynolds, 37, and Rankin Ruff, 42, both of Americus, were charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and two counts each of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Authorities executed a search warrant Sept. 17 at a home in the 300 block of South Jackson Street as part of a narcotics investigation.

During the search, investigators reported finding approximately 695.8 grams of suspected cocaine, 17.7 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Four firearms and more than $27,000 in cash were also seized, according to the GBI.

Reynolds and Ruff were arrested and booked into the Sumter County Jail.

The operation involved the GBI Southwestern Regional Drug Enforcement Office, GBI’s Americus Regional Investigative Office, GBI Special Enforcement Team, Americus Police Department, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol.

The charges are accusations, and Reynolds and Ruff are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
