9-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured After Being Struck by SUV in Macon

MACON, Ga. – A 9-year-old girl was critically injured Saturday night after being struck by an SUV while crossing a road in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision happened just before 8 p.m. Sept. 12 on Log Cabin Drive near the intersection of Gadson Drive.

Investigators said a 31-year-old woman driving a white Toyota Highlander struck the girl as she was crossing the roadway. Deputies made contact with the driver at the scene.

The child was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where medical staff listed her in critical condition.

Authorities have not released the girl’s name pending notification of her family.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
