Former Cornelia IT Director Accused of Stealing More Than $95,000 From City

CORNELIA, Ga. – The former information technology director for the City of Cornelia has been arrested after a Georgia Bureau of Investigation probe determined he was responsible for the theft of more than $95,000 in city funds, authorities said.

Jeremy Ron Dundore, 46, of Clarkesville, is charged with two counts of theft by deception and one count of first-degree forgery.

The investigation began April 28 after the Cornelia Police Department asked the GBI to investigate the suspected theft of money from the city.

GBI agents said their investigation identified Dundore, who previously served as Cornelia’s IT director, as responsible for stealing more than $95,000.

Authorities have not disclosed how the money was taken, how long the suspected theft occurred or what led investigators to Dundore.

Dundore was arrested and booked into the Habersham County Detention Center.
