Convicted Felon Sentenced to 20 Years After Hydrocodone, Guns and Cash Found in Macon Home

MACON, Ga. – A convicted felon has been sentenced to 20 years after authorities searching his Macon home recovered hydrocodone pills, drug distribution materials, thousands of dollars in cash and two concealed handguns.

Oscar Abram pleaded guilty on August 4, 2026, to Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

A judge sentenced Abram to 20 years, with 10 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections. His sentence also includes a $10,000 fine.

The case stems from a drug investigation that led authorities to Abram’s residence on Reese Street in Macon.

On October 20, 2021, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service executed a drug search warrant at the home. The warrant followed several months of controlled drug purchases conducted by investigators who had developed information that Abram was illegally selling pills.

Deputies Find 56 Grams of Hydrocodone and Two Revolvers

Authorities detained Abram after entering the residence and began searching the property.

Investigators recovered approximately 56 grams of hydrocodone, along with digital scales, drug packaging materials and thousands of dollars in U.S. currency.

Two revolvers were also found hidden inside the residence.

Abram was already a convicted felon and was legally prohibited from possessing firearms, according to prosecutors.

“This defendant was selling pills out of his home while illegally armed as a convicted felon, a dangerous combination that puts our entire community at risk,” Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney Anita Howard said.

Howard credited the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and U.S. Marshals Service for the months of investigative work that led to the case.

“This sentence ensures significant time in custody and years of supervision afterward, and it reflects our Office’s continued commitment to getting illegal guns and drugs off our streets,” Howard said.

Abram was taken into custody following the sentencing hearing.
