Two Arrested After String of Vehicle Break-Ins in Glynn County, Stolen Firearms Recovered
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Two men have been arrested after a series of vehicle break-ins led investigators to recover multiple stolen firearms and other stolen property, according to the Glynn County Police Department.
The investigation began on Aug. 3 after police received multiple reports of vehicles being entered during the early morning hours. Patrol officers and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division quickly determined the incidents appeared to be connected.
By the following day, detectives had developed leads identifying two suspects.
The first suspect, 21-year-old Chance Jones, was located near Exit 36 and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Glynn County Police Department for questioning before being booked into the Glynn County Detention Center.
As the investigation continued, detectives identified a second suspect, 22-year-old Kendrick Warren. Because investigators believed Warren was in possession of multiple stolen firearms, the Glynn County SWAT Team assisted with his arrest.
At approximately 11:05 p.m. on Aug. 4, Warren was taken into custody without incident at a residence on Goodyear Avenue.
Detectives and crime scene investigators executed a search warrant at the residence, recovering multiple stolen firearms and additional stolen property. Warren was interviewed before being booked into the Glynn County Detention Center.
Jones has been charged with 13 felony counts of entering an automobile and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities said he also had outstanding warrants connected to previous entering auto cases in Glynn County.
Warren has been charged with 12 felony counts of entering an automobile.
Investigators are continuing to search for several stolen firearms that remain missing and are working to identify the rightful owners of all recovered property.
Police credited the successful investigation to cooperation among multiple divisions within the Glynn County Police Department and thanked the Brunswick Police Department for assisting after portions of the investigation extended into its jurisdiction.
Authorities also reminded residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables, particularly firearms, inside unattended vehicles.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed as detectives continue reviewing evidence.
