Eastman Man Arrested on Cocaine Trafficking Charge in Coffee County Investigation

COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. – A 42-year-old Eastman man was arrested on a cocaine trafficking charge after investigators intercepted him during an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit.

Agents arrested Kendall McDuffie on July 21 after identifying him as a person of interest in the transportation of illegal narcotics.

According to investigators, agents intercepted McDuffie while he was transporting suspected cocaine, surrounded his vehicle and took him into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a plastic bag containing a large circular white rock substance believed to be a “cookie” of crack cocaine.

McDuffie, who is a resident of Telfair County, was charged with trafficking in cocaine under Georgia law. He remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail.

Douglas Police Chief Brannen Pruette said local law enforcement agencies remain committed to combating drug trafficking.

“Trafficking narcotics into our community is not something we will tolerate,” Pruette said. “We will continue working alongside our law enforcement partners to hold those responsible accountable and protect the citizens of Douglas.”

Coffee County Sheriff Fred Cole also warned those involved in narcotics trafficking that they will be aggressively pursued.

“Bring drugs into Coffee County, and understand one thing: you are not coming to do business. You are coming to meet us,” Cole said. “Every road leads to the Coffee County Jail. You aren’t welcome here, and we will make sure you know it.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
