Columbus Teen Arrested on Armed Robbery, Sexual Assault Charges Along Riverwalk

COLUMBUS, Ga. – An 18-year-old Columbus man has been arrested on multiple felony charges after police say he robbed and sexually assaulted a victim along the city’s Riverwalk.

Raheem Castle was taken into custody on July 27 following an investigation by the Columbus Police Department’s Special Victims Unit into an incident reported the previous day.

According to police, officers responded on July 26, 2026, to the Riverwalk behind the 1300 block of Victory Drive after receiving a report of an armed robbery and sexual assault.

Investigators identified Castle as the suspect and arrested him the following day. He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail.

Castle has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, armed robbery, kidnapping and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Police said Castle was scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing on July 29.

Court records show this is the third time Castle has been arrested in 2026.

On Jan. 5, Castle was arrested on a charge of battery under Georgia’s Family Violence Act. He was released on bond five days later, on Jan. 10.

He was arrested again on April 26 and charged with terroristic threats and acts under the Family Violence Act, battery under the Family Violence Act and violating a family violence protective order. He posted bond and was released from jail on April 30.
