Dacula Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Sharing Toddler Abuse Videos on Kik

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A 29-year-old Dacula man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to distributing videos and photos depicting the sexual abuse of toddlers over social media, prosecutors announced.

Patrick Joseph Adebamowo entered guilty pleas on Friday, July 24, 2026, to 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children. A judge sentenced Adebamowo to a total 30-year sentence, ordering him to serve 10 years in state prison followed by 10 years of probation, alongside mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.

Kik Network Distribution and Defense Claims

During the plea hearing, prosecutors presented forensic evidence showing that Adebamowo used his home network to share illicit files across the Kik social media platform.

The material recovered by cyber-investigators included graphic videos depicting toddlers being sexually abused by adult men.

In court, defense counsel argued for leniency, claiming to the court that the shared videos posed “no harm” and requesting a sentence consisting solely of probation. The presiding judge rejected the defense request, imposing the 10-year active prison term.

Multi-Agency Cyber Task Force

The criminal investigation was spearheaded by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, combining resources from the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), and the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The case was prosecuted by Special Victims Unit Managing Assistant District Attorney Megan Matteucci, with support from Investigator Jessica Pironis and Victim Witness Advocate Wonsiah Kermah.
