Macon Shooting Leaves 20-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition

MACON, Ga. – A 20-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after being shot early Sunday morning in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 4200 block of Houston Avenue near Burke Street after the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center received a report of shots fired at approximately 5:37 a.m. on July 26.

When deputies arrived, they began investigating the reported shooting. Authorities later learned that a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound had been transported by a personal vehicle to a local hospital before deputies reached the scene.

Medical staff told investigators the victim was treated for his injuries and remains in critical but stable condition.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation. Detectives have not released information regarding a suspect or a motive, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
