Three Arrested After Athens Drug Raids Seize Fentanyl, Cocaine, Marijuana, Firearms and Cash

ATHENS, Ga. – Three Athens men were arrested Friday after law enforcement officers executed multiple search warrants across Athens-Clarke County, seizing fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, firearms and thousands of dollars in cash.

The Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force, assisted by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department’s Gang Unit, K-9 Unit and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, carried out search warrants on the morning of July 24 at properties on Sayemore Drive, Massey Lane and Big Oak Circle.

During the operation, investigators seized approximately 12 grams of fentanyl, 24 grams of cocaine, 18 pounds of marijuana, four firearms and $8,800 in cash.

Authorities arrested 34-year-old Brian Teasley of Athens and charged him with Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree, Obstruction, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, three counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felony First Offender and two counts of Trafficking Cocaine/Illegal Drugs/Marijuana/Methamphetamine.

Also arrested was 37-year-old Darryl Howard of Athens, who was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and two counts of Probation Violation. Police said Howard is also being held on a warrant from another law enforcement agency.

Investigators also arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Edwards of Athens. He faces five counts of Sale of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Felonies and Trafficking Cocaine/Illegal Drugs/Marijuana/Methamphetamine.

The investigation remains ongoing.
