Man Arrested After Fatal Stabbing at Paulding County Home

DALLAS, Ga. – A 37-year-old man was arrested after a fatal stabbing Sunday night at a home in the Windmill Creek area of Paulding County, authorities said.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 9:43 p.m. on July 19 to the 300 block of Amsterdam Way for a report of CPR in progress. While deputies were en route, the call was updated to indicate a possible stabbing.

When deputies arrived, they found a man covered in blood standing on the back porch of the residence. Deputies ordered the man off the porch, detained him, and began searching the home.

Inside the residence, deputies located a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Firefighters and EMS personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Joshua Michael Addison.

Authorities arrested the man found on the back porch, identified as 37-year-old Jacob B. Brady.

Brady has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and cruelty to children. The sheriff’s office has not released additional details regarding the child cruelty charge or indicated whether additional charges may be filed following Addison’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
