Spalding County Man Arrested After Deputies Seize Cocaine, Marijuana and MDMA

GRIFFIN, Ga. – A Spalding County man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges after deputies executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of large quantities of illegal narcotics, cash and a firearm.

According to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Special Operations Unit, assisted by the Criminal Investigations Division and Fugitive Apprehension Division, executed a search warrant at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 20 at a residence in the 480 block of North Pinehill Road in Griffin.

The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the alleged sale of illegal narcotics from the residence.

During the search, investigators seized approximately 13 pounds of marijuana, 11 ounces of cocaine, 1.75 pounds of MDMA/methamphetamine, and $21,328 in cash.

Authorities arrested the resident, 41-year-old Shenard Ellis.

Ellis was charged with trafficking marijuana, trafficking cocaine, trafficking MDMA/methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA/methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The investigation remains ongoing.
