11-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot in Columbus, Police Investigating

COLUMBUS, Ga. An 11-year-old boy was shot and killed Wednesday night in Columbus, and police are asking for the public’s help as investigators work to determine what led to the shooting.

Columbus police officers responded at approximately 10:08 p.m. on July 8 to the 800 block of Apex Road after receiving a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 11-year-old Kadin Harris suffering from gunshot wounds.

Harris was transported by EMS to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he died from his injuries. An emergency room physician pronounced him dead at 10:49 p.m.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or identified any suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
