Coffee County Deputies Capture Homicide Suspects After 100 MPH Chase

COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. — Two suspects connected to an apparent homicide investigation in Crisp County were arrested after leading Coffee County deputies on a high-speed pursuit that ended with a PIT maneuver.

According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were alerted that an apparent homicide had just occurred in Crisp County and that the suspect vehicle was believed to be traveling toward Coffee County.

Deputies quickly located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

Instead of stopping, the driver fled, leading deputies on a pursuit at speeds exceeding 100 mph, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities said the chase ended when deputies successfully performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, bringing the fleeing vehicle to a stop.

Both occupants were taken into custody without further incident.

The sheriff’s office did not release the identities of the suspects or provide additional details about the homicide investigation, which is being handled by Crisp County authorities.
