Seven Arrested, Motel Shut Down Following Drug Investigation in Brunswick

GLYNN COUNTY, Georgia – A multi-agency narcotics investigation at a Brunswick motel led to seven arrests, the seizure of illegal drugs, and the closure of the property after inspectors discovered numerous health, safety, and code violations.

On May 29, the Glynn County Police Department executed five search warrants at separate rooms within the Economy Inn on New Jesup Highway as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

The operation was conducted with assistance from the Brunswick Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During the searches, detectives recovered controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

The following individuals were arrested:

  • Logan Knight — Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) and Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Rhaheim Richardson — Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Methamphetamine)
  • Terrence Jackson — Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug-Related Objects, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce, and an active warrant for Criminal Trespass
  • Michael Cohen — Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Damion Mann — Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Tammie Carter — Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Jhamah Harris — Possession of Drug-Related Objects and Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce

Following the operation, officials from Glynn County Fire Rescue, the Georgia Department of Public Health, Glynn County Public Works, and Glynn County Code Enforcement inspected the motel property.

Authorities reported finding numerous fire and life-safety hazards, public health concerns, and code compliance violations. Inspectors also cited the property for pest infestations, permit violations, and operating without required county business licenses.

As a result, the Economy Inn was ordered to cease operations and was vacated and closed.

The Glynn County Police Department said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests and charges are possible.
