Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting on Altama Avenue in Brunswick
BRUNSWICK, Georgia – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting early Friday morning in Brunswick, according to the Brunswick Police Department.
Police said officers responded shortly after 1:30 a.m. on May 23 to the 2700 block of Altama Avenue following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Detectives with the Brunswick Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Authorities later arrested Jared Williams and charged him with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators said the case remains active and ongoing.
