Four Arrested After Burke County Shooting Investigation Leads to Firearm Recovery
GIRARD, Georgia – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people following a shooting investigation in Girard that resulted in the recovery of multiple firearms, including one that investigators said had been modified.
Deputies responded around 12:53 a.m. on May 17 to the 100 block of Corn Road after receiving reports of shots fired.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and conducted a canvass of the area, recovering approximately 22 spent shell casings and collecting witness statements.
Authorities said investigators later obtained arrest warrants for Travion Clark, who was taken into custody the following day.
As the investigation continued, Sgt. Gaines and Task Force Officer Sims conducted additional interviews, reviewed surveillance footage, and canvassed the area again, leading to additional arrests and charges.
The following individuals were charged:
• Travion Clark, 20, of Sylvania, charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless conduct, and safekeeping holds for probation and Screven County.
• Dylan Nix, 20, of Sylvania, charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
• Tre’ Tesha Clark, 22, of Sylvania, charged with false statements.
• Peggy Roberson, 31, of Sylvania, charged with tampering with evidence.
Investigators said they recovered firearms believed to have been used during the shooting, including one weapon that had been modified.
Authorities said additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Sylvania Police Department and the Screven County Sheriff’s Office for assisting with the investigation.
