Woman Hospitalized After Shooting in Residential Area Off Mercer University Drive

MACON, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a 29-year-old woman injured Wednesday night in a residential area off Mercer University Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at approximately 10:46 p.m. on May 13, 2026.

Deputies responded to the 3600 block of Mercer University Drive after receiving reports of a person who had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they located a 29-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound, according to investigators.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Medical staff later reported that she was in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office said the Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.
