Man Accused of Following Teen Girls for Miles Arrested on Stalking Charges in Troup County
TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A Newnan man is facing charges after investigators say he followed four teenage girls for several miles before being confronted at a residence, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 11:22 p.m. April 11, 2026, to a home on Hamilton Road regarding a reported fight with injuries.
When deputies arrived, they found a man with visible injuries and notified the Criminal Investigations Division.
Investigators later identified the man as 40-year-old Marshall Phillip Taylor of Newnan.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation determined Taylor had followed four teenage females from a local business to a residence over several miles.
When the group arrived, homeowners confronted Taylor out of concern for their safety and the safety of the juveniles. During the confrontation, force was used against Taylor, resulting in his injuries.
Authorities said Taylor’s actions led investigators to obtain warrants charging him with stalking and simple assault.
Taylor was taken into custody without incident April 15 by the Valley, Alabama Police Department.
He was transported to the Troup County Jail on April 21.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have had a similar encounter with Taylor to contact Investigator James Robson at 706-883-1616.
