Man Shot Outside Hephzibah Bar Drives Himself to Hospital
AUGUSTA, Ga. — A 52-year-old man is recovering after being shot early Saturday morning outside a bar in Hephzibah, GA, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 3:00 a.m. on April 4th to Doctors Hospital of Augusta after the victim arrived with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim told deputies he had been leaving a bar in the 3600 block of Deans Bridge Road when an unknown vehicle approached and began firing in his direction. He realized he had been struck and drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division are actively working the case. No suspect information has been released.
