ROCKDALE, Georgia – A months-long narcotics investigation in Rockdale County has resulted in the arrest of a Stonecrest man and the execution of multiple search warrants.

Investigators with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit conducted undercover operations, including controlled drug buys, before obtaining arrest warrants for Justin Lamont Driskell.

Driskell was taken into custody during a traffic stop conducted by Georgia State Patrol troopers assigned to the Criminal Interdiction Unit, with assistance from a K9 unit. Authorities said the arrest was made without incident.

Following the arrest, investigators executed search warrants at three locations within the Wesley Providence Apartment complex in Stonecrest that were linked to Driskell.

The operation involved assistance from the DeKalb County Police Department SWAT team and aviation unit, which helped secure the locations while investigators carried out the searches.

Driskell is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail and faces multiple charges, including four counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.

During the execution of the search warrants, a man and woman found inside one of the apartments were briefly detained. Authorities later determined they were not involved in the investigation and released them.

The investigation remains ongoing.
