Two Persons of Interest Detained in Lawrenceville After Fatal Shooting in Gwinnett County
Lawrenceville police detained two individuals Sunday, February 9, after locating a vehicle linked to a fatal shooting that occurred within the Gwinnett County Police Department’s jurisdiction.
Lawrenceville officers were alerted to the shooting, which left one person dead, and were provided a description of a vehicle occupied by persons of interest. Using FLOCK camera technology, officers were notified when the vehicle entered Lawrenceville.
Police quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, safely detaining the two occupants, identified as Aldair Hernandez-Moreno and Luis Hernandez-Moreno.
During the stop, officers discovered that Luis Hernandez-Moreno had sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to Northside Gwinnett Hospital for treatment.
Both individuals were later turned over to investigators with the Gwinnett County Police Department. The investigation remains under the authority of Gwinnett County Police.
