Macon Teen Hospitalized After Apparent Accidental Shooting on Mikado Avenue
MACON, Ga. – A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized Thursday afternoon, January 15th, after suffering a gunshot wound in what investigators believe was an accidental, self-inflicted shooting at a residence on Mikado Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched just after noon to the 4100 block of Mikado Avenue following a 911 call reporting a person had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies found the juvenile with a single gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to a local medical facility, where he is listed in stable condition.
Authorities said no other injuries were reported. Preliminary findings indicate the incident appears to have been an accidental self-inflicted shooting, though investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding what happened.
