Following the arrests, agents with the DCDU, assisted by drug agents with the D.I.C.E. Unit, searched the residence. Investigators reported finding approximately 12 ounces of cocaine, 12 pounds of marijuana, 63 oxycodone tablets, and several firearms.

Joel Dooley has been charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, and misdemeanor fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement.

Leondra Carmichael Dooley faces charges of trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Fred Cole praised the work of the drug unit, emphasizing its role in addressing narcotics activity in the county.

“This is the result of solid work by the DCDU,” Cole said. “This unit was implemented specifically to engage in the disruption of the manufacturing, importing, distribution and use of illegal drugs in Coffee County. It will not be tolerated; we will dedicate every resource to this unit’s mission. This is what zero-tolerance enforcement looks like. We will continue to target drug activity that threatens the safety of our community.”
