Bibb County Deputies Investigate Early Morning Truck Collision on Pio Nono Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning, December 9, at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Rocky Creek Road.
Dispatchers received the call at 6:56 a.m. after a truck traveling north on Pio Nono struck overhead utility lines before entering the intersection. The driver did not stop following the impact, and no injuries have been reported.
The collision forced authorities to close both northbound and southbound lanes of Pio Nono Avenue at Rocky Creek Road due to low-hanging lines blocking the roadway. Deputies redirected northbound traffic onto I-75 North, while southbound drivers were detoured east and west on Rocky Creek Road.
Officials urged drivers to steer clear of the area until crews could clear the scene and reopen the roadway.
The Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that the intersection has been reopened.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
