Operation Raydiant Shadows Nets 12 Arrests in Dougherty County Human Trafficking Sting

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. – A proactive, multi-agency online undercover investigation coordinated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT) has resulted in the arrests of twelve individuals targeting commercial sex buyers and traffickers in the Dougherty County area.

The operation, dubbed “Operation Raydiant Shadows,” involved several months of planning and collaboration among the GBI, the Albany-Dougherty Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Albany Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Georgia State Patrol.

The arrestees, ranging in age from 17 to 58, traveled from various locations with the intent to purchase or sell sex commercially.

Arrests and Charges

Eleven individuals were arrested on charges related to the commercial sex trade, with ten charged with Pandering. Six commercial sex workers who were encountered during the operation met with victim advocates and were offered services.
