Stolen Vehicle Chase Ends in Arrest off Carnation Street in Macon
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, along with investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division, recovered a stolen Chevrolet Impala on Mercer University Drive at Petunia Avenue after initiating a traffic stop.
According to reports, the driver refused to stop and sped away, leading deputies on a brief pursuit before crashing into a fence off Carnation Street. The male driver was arrested at gunpoint, and investigators located a handgun and marijuana inside the stolen vehicle.
The suspect was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center without further incident. The Impala had been reported stolen from a hospital on Northside Drive.
