Multiple Shootings in Claxton Linked to Early Morning Fight

Claxton, GA – At the request of the Evans County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a series of connected shooting incidents in Claxton.
Around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the area of Church Street and Jones Street, where one person had been shot. The victim was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Savannah for further treatment.
Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a fight at a gathering on North College Street, which escalated into gunfire on Church Street. Two additional shootings, on Jones Street and Savoy Road, are also believed to be linked.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
