Authorities Searching for Armed Suspect in Thomson Shooting

THOMSON, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and Thomson Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating 40-year-old Jimmy Lavont Mance, who is wanted in connection with a shooting earlier this week.

Mance is charged with two counts of aggravated assault stemming from a shooting on Bussey Avenue in Thomson on September 23, 2025. Investigators say he was last seen leaving the scene on foot but may have access to a 2018 bronze Chevy Tahoe with Georgia tag YID488. His current direction of travel is unknown.

Authorities warn that Mance is armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should not approach and instead call 911 immediately.
