Murder Suspect Arrested at State Farm Arena in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga.—A murder suspect was arrested without incident at the State Farm Arena on August 23, after off-duty police officers working an extra job were alerted to his presence.

Daquonta Hunter, 26, was taken into custody by Atlanta Police officers after he was recognized by a citizen. He was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 11, 2025.

According to police, officers responded to a “person shot” call at 1739 Martin L King Jr Dr NW at approximately 9:54 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a male with a gunshot wound to the chest who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hunter has been charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. He is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail.
