Atlanta Police Announce Arrest in Ongoing Homicide Investigation
Deandrew King

Atlanta Police have confirmed that on August 18, 2025, Deandrew King, 34, was taken into custody by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in connection with an ongoing homicide case.

King has been charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Battery. Authorities emphasized that an arrest does not constitute guilt and that King is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The case stems from an incident on July 28, 2025, when officers were dispatched around 11:06 p.m. to 80 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE regarding a woman with severe head injuries. Medical staff at Grady Memorial Hospital requested police assistance in identifying the patient, who was incapacitated at the time.

Investigators later determined that the woman had been transported to the hospital the previous day, July 27, after first responders were called to 22 Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW for a “person down” with head lacerations.

Officers canvassed the surrounding area and spoke with community members, who said they recognized the woman as someone who frequented the neighborhood but could not provide details about how she was injured.

The investigation into the case remains active.
