Macon Man, 61, Arrested in Stabbing That Left Victim Hospitalized

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man Monday night in connection with an aggravated assault at a home on the 3800 block of Tela Place.

The incident occurred on August 11, 2025, at 10:44 p.m., when deputies responded to a report of a person cut. Upon arrival, they found a 33-year-old male suffering from a stab wound. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators determined the victim and a man nearby had been involved in a physical altercation before the stabbing. Deputies identified 61-year-old Dennis Coney as the suspect and took him into custody. A weapon tied to the incident was recovered at the scene.

Coney was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Aggravated Assault. He is being held without bond.
