PINE MOUNTAIN, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested 42-year-old Jessica Steele of Hamilton, Georgia, on one count of Theft by Taking in connection with the misappropriation of over $90,000 from Callaway Resort and Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA.

The investigation began on February 1, 2022, when the Pine Mountain Police Department requested GBI assistance following allegations of internal theft. Preliminary findings indicate that Steele diverted funds from the resort during her employment between January 1, 2020, and January 28, 2022.

Steele turned herself in on Monday, July 14, 2025, and was booked into the Harris County Jail. She has since been released on bond.
